17 December 2008 VISI Preview Days in UK, Italy Well Attended
Vero Software plc, a supplier of CAD/CAM software for the mould and die industry, held free software preview days recently at a number of locations in the UK, Ireland, and Italy, demonstrating the new features and modules of the latest VISI release, VISI 16, to maintenance users and providing attendees with a chance to spend time with technicians. The company reports that record numbers of people responded to the opportunity. Thus, the answer to the question of whether this year would see a drop in attendance as the forecasts of economic gloom diminished interest was a resounding no. Vero has found the practice of presentation days to be increasingly popular. It now has to spread the presentations in the UK over several days to cope with demand, while, in Italy, the company has expanded both the size of the meetings and the number of locations. Vero held a week of presentation days in its new head office in Cheltenham, and scheduled extra days in the North of England and Ireland. A total of more than 150 attendees listened to the presentations and discussed the newer and finer points of the VISI products. UK customer Wood and Loines Ltd. expressed delight with the latest release. “Version 16 is the best upgrade we have had to date,” a representative of the company stated. “Since installing after the update day, we have found that the stripped-down menus alone have allowed us to increase programming output, not to mention the improved surfacing, viewing, and modelling abilities.” Wood and Loines also says that the new licensing will save it money in insurance, too. Multiple presentations of the Italian version of the software all attracted many interested users. Vero reports that 180 people came to the Romano meeting in the Turin region, 150 attended the Seriate presentations near Milan, and 70 listened to the presentation in Marcon, in the area of Venice.
