2 December 2009 Eberhard Facility Expansion Celebrated by Employees
Recently, the employees of the tool and mould component division of Eberhard GmbH & Co. KG held a traditional “Richtfest” to celebrate the near completion of an extensive addition to the company’s manufacturing facility in Nordheim. The building expansion represents an investment of €7 million. The expenditure was the largest in the company’s 75-year history, but it bought a doubling of the office and production area for Eberhard Werkzeugtechnologie. That is certainly a project whose imminent conclusion calls for a topping-out ceremony. The supplier of precision components for mould builders has itself been affected by the ongoing global economic crisis, but it regarded the situation as an opportunity to take action that would enable it to emerge from the market doldrums strengthened. The enterprises of the firm Gebrüder Eberhard—covering tool component supply and wholesale trade in electrical components—employ 400 people altogether. Careful management of these divisions produced a total turnover last year of €80 million. The electrical product wholesaling business in Heilbronn ranks among the leading enterprises engaged in that field in its region.
