16 October 2009 Creaform Rises in Ranks of Deloitte Technology Fast 50
Creaform, which develops and manufactures Handyscan 3D self-positioning handheld laser scanners and the HandyProbe arm-free portable coordinate measuring machine, has climbed in the rankings of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. It has been the seventh-fastest-growing technology company in Canada over the past five years. Each year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 identifies the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in Canada according to the companies’ revenue growth over the preceding five-year period. Creaform’s revenue increase of 4,338% from 2004 to 2008 lifted the firm from a 22nd-position ranking in 2008. This year, it holds the second position in rankings of companies headquartered in the province of Quebec. “Canadian technology companies have demonstrated some very impressive growth numbers over the past year, amid the challenges of a global recession,” said John Ruffolo, national head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group of Deloitte, on the occasion of the announcement of the 2009 Technology Fast 50. “Creaform is an example of the determination, drive and skill that will serve to position them for further growth and success as the economic recovery takes hold.” Martin Lamontagne, CEO of Creaform, accepted the company’s prize with great pride, saying that Creaform’s growth was due to the passion and determination of its employees. “When I learned about this year’s Fast 50 France’s theme, which is ’Disruptive technology: Build another kind of future,’ I have to admit that it brought a smile to my face, because this describes precisely Creaform’s core,” said Lamontagne. “Even our competition talks about us as being a disruptive technology developer!
