More than six months before the event is to take place, the Forum Internationale de Plasturgie (FIP; International Plastics Industry Forum), which in 2009 will take place in Lyon for the first time in its history, is receiving growing interest from exhibitors. In excess of 60% of the available surface area for FIP 2009 has already been reserved.

FIP 2009 takes place June 16–19 at the Eurexpo Lyon. It is organized by IDICE, which is part of the ETAI group, a leading French trade news organization.

This trade fair, with its national and international impact, is the only regional event in the sector in 2009. It will enable the profession, otherwise deprived of the opportunity, to meet, organize, and communicate with its target audience. In addition, in the current uncertain economic context, the various sectors of activity within the industry are evolving differently, and new factors are affecting the market.

For order providers, FIP targets three main areas.

One is promoting plastics and ensuring that suppliers maintain a competitive edge by giving them cutting-edge technical information and updates. Events planned in addition to the conference programme include special focus areas on Emerging Technologies, Innovative Materials, and “Plastics, a Means of Ensuring Progress.”

The second trade fair objective is to enable industry actors to understand the changes taking place and to position themselves well for future market requirements.

FIP 2009 also aims to accelerate business for industry companies by facilitating the effective establishment of new contacts. IDICE will reinforce the exhibitor presentations through the offer of exhibitor conferences, special events at stands, and the global advertisement of new products on exhibit. Both traditional and original tools will be used to streamline and improve relations between suppliers and customers.
