17 February 2010 Afrimold Trade Fair Premieres in August in Johannesburg
With the premiere of Afrimold, which will take place August 16–18, 2010, in Johannesburg, South Africa, demat GmbH launches its successful EuroMold concept in an African venue. South Africa in recent years has made tremendous strides in product development, tooling and mould making. Afrimold 2010 acknowledges this growth. Many European companies have a presence in the Republic of South Africa, a country whose major industries are automobile manufacturing, metal processing and machinery production. Important South African trading partners are Germany, the USA, the UK and Japan. Afrimold is designed to close the geographical gap between Africa and its far-flung suppliers somewhat. South Africa now serves as a hub and trading centre for Asia and South America. The nation heavily promotes its domestic industry, but it still requires active support from Europe and the United States. The first Afrimold will be held at Sandton Convention Centre, a partner to demat in the venture. In addition, the Toolmaking Association of South Africa is lending assistance, guaranteeing a high level of industry support for the premiere. The exhibition has been scheduled during the European summer trade fair break. However, international exhibitors should be aware that August is the South African high season. Afrimold is expected to exert an influence on neighbour states and strengthen its supply markets. EuroMold visitors from African countries have demonstrated to demat the strong need for a local fair of their own. Thus, in August, South African suppliers can encounter their customers “at home” and endeavour to open up new markets that were previously difficult to reach. For further information: Afrimold 2010
