4 March 2010 Asiamold Attracts High Level of Repeat Exhibitors
For the 4th edition of the Asiamold international trade fair for mould making and tooling, design, and application development, 80% of last year’s exhibitors have already confirmed their participation, according to the show organizer. Asiamold 2010 will be held at the Polyworld Trade Centre Expo in Guangzhou, China, September 15–17. Asiamold, with its fair concept “from design to prototyping to series production,” is one of the most dynamic mould and die industry exhibitions in the Asian region, always welcoming thousands of professional buyers and senior decision makers from such manufacturing companies as Canon, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Siemens, among many others of note. The 2010 edition features the Automold Zone and the Plastics Design Zone to meet specific market needs. The Chinese mould and die market continues to grow at a steady pace. In the first nine months of 2009, sector imports were valued at $1.47 billion and exports at $1.33 billion. Most moulds being imported and exported during this time frame were for plastic injection. Next most important were die-casting moulds. Competitive labour rates and increasing domestic demand for motor vehicles have led more and more auto brands to relocate manufacturing operations to China. Last year, China surpassed the United States and Japan to become the world’s number one market for automobiles and the leading car-manufacturing nation. The considerable potential for auto component production in China, and the growing demand there for specialized auto moulds, suggests why 70% of the popular Automold Zone at Asiamold 2010 has already been reserved. A new Plastics Design Zone will be launched at this year’s Asiamold. Suppliers of hot runner technology, injection moulding materials, injection technology, engineering and CAD/CAM systems will be gathered under one roof for easy sourcing. Asiamold is organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with DEMAT GmbH and the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council. At last year’s show, 298 exhibitors were visited by 10,468 buyers from some three dozen countries. For further information: Asiamold 2010
