22 July 2003 European Machine Tool Importers Have New President
CELIMO, the European Liaison Committee of Machine Tool Importers, has had a new president since May, when Pentti Olkkonen of Finland took over from Michael Legg. The transition was formalized at the organization's council meeting held in Naples. Olkkonen has been an active member of the Machine Tools section of the Finnish Technical Trade Association (TKL) for many years and has been involved with the machine tool sector for more than four decades. He is managing director of Cron-Tek Oy, as well as being chairman of Nugget Oy and the Estonian company Cron-Tek Eesti. Olkkonen assumes leadership of CELIMO at a challenging time for the European and global machine tool market "I believe that CELIMO will continue to play a very important role in helping its member associations to benefit from the international recovery when it happens," he says hopefully. CELIMO represents 13 national associations in Europe and is the major voice for European machine tool agents and distributors. More information is available from CELIMO secretary general Simon Brown of the The Manufacturing Technologies Association. For further information: CELIMO
