An analysis of CAM software seats recently released by the American consulting and market research firm CIMdata Inc. shows that Mastercam CAD/CAM software from CNC Software Inc. ranks first in the number of installed seats worldwide—for the tenth year in a row.
Said CNC Software president Mark Summers following the report's release, "The competition is getting tough in the CAM market, and we are thrilled to be at the top of the rankings for the 10th year running. By listening to our customers and looking to the future, we continue the mutual success we share with the Mastercam user community."
CIMdata president Alan Christman said, "With 13.3% of the global market, almost twice that of the nearest CAM vendor, CNC Software is the leader on the basis of both industrial and educational seat count. They are the worldwide leading vendor for industrial seats shipped and total seats installed in 2003. CNC Software has consistently ranked #1 in installed seats since CIMdata started measuring the market." Mastercam has 79,962 installed seats worldwide.
Mastercam is CAD/CAM software that runs under Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP and is compatible with all other CAD/CAM systems. It handles 2- through 5-axis milling and turning; 2- and 4-axis wire EDM; 2D and 3D design, surface, and solid modeling; and 2D and 3D routing.
